      Win Any Rubber Band War; Fear No One

      When I think of rubber band guns, this is the image I get.

      However, if a company called XYZbot have their way, this could be the new face of rubber band warfare.

      That’s a rubber band gattling gun and while it, surprisingly, isn’t the first of its kind, it’s promising to be the very best. Fully automatic (naturally) this beast can store 128 rubber bands at a time, and is capable of firing up to 800 rounds per minute if you can load em fast enough. Battery powered and shipping as a multi-piece kit, the developers are saying it should take no longer than 30 minutes to assemble with the help of a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. However, they also advise that this gun not be used by anybody under the age of 12, and that it not be fired at other human beings, so until further notice let’s assume the entire listing as being tongue-in-cheeck.

      Regardless this does appear to be the true future of rubber band warfare, and could be yours for just a $49 backing on the project’s Kickstarter page. Just remember that the powers may be different, the technology might advance, but rubber band war? Rubber band war never changes.

      I’ve always had a terrible sense of direction. While its an issue I’ve steadily improved thanks to some long driving adventures and later having to navigate my way through the streets of New York, I can’t say I’m ever fully comfortable going to a new area and truly finding my way around.

      Sure, there are a plethora of devices and apps to help people like me find there way around with minimal effort, but there is nothing like being able to comfortably get around any neighborhood like you’ve been there a thousand times before, without any outside assistance required.

      The Triposo Travel Belt offers a potential compromise between technological aides and natural navigation. That’s because after you put it on, and set your destination in the included app, the belt will vibrate in one of four directions to let you know where you should be heading to get to your destination. This affords you the benefits of app fueled directions, without making you go through the awkward motion of constantly referencing your device to make use of them.

      Sure the nature of its functionality is certainly leaning towards the novelty side, and the device if most likely useless for driving, but its hard to ignore the creativity of this invention, or that it just may be the most clever solution to finding your way around when walking that’s been presented yet. It’s creators are looking for $10,000 on indiegogo to make it a reality, which may be just the right asking point to get the contributions of all those tourists in the world tired of looking like one when they travel.

      You May Not Believe That iOS 7 Makes Your Device Waterproof, but it Turns Out Some People Do

      enhanced-buzz-22303-1380020250-0While I usually like to use this site to show the amazing new pieces of technology that are improving not just our everyday lives, but the world itself, every now and then I think we could use a reminder that even the smartest of devices can be ruined by the inherent stupidity of people.

      Take for instance the brand new iOS 7 update. While the full merits of the update and the new features it provides are debatable, the one thing we can all agree on is that it doesn’t make your device waterproof. That may sound like an incredibly out of place and obvious statement, but apparently it really, really needs to be reiterated, as a fake advert for the new operating software has been getting passed around the internet through various sites which all claim, through admittedly professional looking formatting, that the most recent update will make whatever phone it is uploaded to waterproof.

      Now, if you’re intelligent enough to not believe such a thing, you’ve also probably deduced by now that some people have fallen for this. In fact it turns out quite a few people believed this, as evidenced by a Twitter search that reveals not only people ecstatic regarding this recent “upgrade,” but some who are now very irate after trying to test it. Of particular note is the person lamenting that their iPhone is now at the bottom of a river after this,suggesting they not only lack common sense and a basic understanding of technology, but quite possibly don’t understand what waterproof means as well.

      Thanks to the miracle of Vine, we can also see a person actually attempt to drop their phone in water after reading this news, in case you were ever wondering what such an act of wanton stupidity looks like.

      Perhaps I should be more sympathetic for these people who have now probably ruined their devices, especially those if they tried it with their brand new 5S. Instead I’m choosing to laugh at their amazing ability to possess more money than common sense, and appreciate the fact there are pranksters out there who are using the power of technology to continually prove the truth behind the old George Carlin quote, “Imagine how stupid the average person is, then realize that half of them are dumber than that.”

      In case it needs reiterating though, iOS 7 does not make your device waterproof and no software update ever possibly could.

      Dual Beer Glass Allows for an Easy Perfect Pour Every Time

      It wasn’t until working at a bar a few years ago, did I really discover the joys of mixed beer drinks.

      Usually overlooked by just about every type of drinker for one reason or another, you probably haven’t ordered one of these concoctions, and if that is the case you are truly missing out, as they usually combine the enhanced flavor of a traditional mixed drink, with the relaxing simplicity of a beer to create what just might be the perfect afternoon drink.

      That being said though, they can be more difficult to get right than you might anticipate, not only because they require the proper proportions, but also due to the fact they like to settle into one another, ruining the flavor.

      This glass, made by the appropriately named Pretentious Beer Glass Company, features a brilliant two chamber design that allows for you to pour two different beers in the proper proportion in the separate sections, and allow the mixture to occur right before the drink hits your lips, which is where of course it matters most. It certainly doesn’t hurt that the original design of the glass’s interior makes this a pretty appealing looking way to get a nice afternoon drunk going.

      New Walkman Model Aims to be the Only Headphones You’ll Ever Need

      The new trend in headphones seems to be turning them into all in one devices, and while it is a trend that is still developing and maturing, don’t tell that to Sony who’ve now unveiled a pair of headphones that just about maxes out the concept.

      The newly unveiled Walkman WH series features a built in music player with 16 GB of storage (or 4 GB  for the lesser end WH303 model) and 20 hours of play through a fully charged battery. Furthering their independent music abilities, are the playback buttons on the side of the earphones that provide your basic track controls. A USB port for uploading music, as well as a traditional audio jack, round out the wearable headphone features.

      The other big feature available for this model is the ability to turn use the speakers built into the headband. The idea of headphones that can be converted to speakers has been tried before with varying degrees of acceptance and success, but the use of Sony’s Xloud technology is an encouraging sign that this design may be the one to break the mold and provide an all in one alternative worth pursuing.

      That’s going to be the general goal for this new model, as they aim to challenge the image of headphones just being headphones. While the unknown price of these models will be the largest determining factor in their validity, if Sony can make them work in three equally high quality ways you can expect these to draw some kind of consumer interest, and certainly a lot of industry attention, when they release.
